Time Destroys Everything

So I get that's the point of the movie - but what exactly does it mean? What are they getting at with it? Is it wrapped up in the stuff about Alex's book and the fact the future is somehow fixed? I didn't quite get it, which makes me think I'm missing the bigger picture of exactly what the film was getting at...

The future isn't fixed, it is destroyed. The movie being told in reverse just made it hit harder how normal and happy these people were until everything went to sh!t. It is a depressing movie, cos it highlights that there is no hope, no matter how good you are, everything ends sadly.

I connected it to time heals everything. Everything is destroyed/ comes to an end.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
