Coincidence or not???
In "A Clockwork Orange" the main character, the rapist[Malcolm McDowell] was named Alex. In this film the victim of the rape is named Alex. I bet this was purposely done. Too coincidental.
shareWell there was a 2001 Space Odyssey poster in the ending sequence so clearly the director is a Kubrick fan. Character probably named intentionally as homage. Good call.

shareIt's no coincidence as he is a confirmed Kubrick fan. The opening credits are a reference to the Shining as well except that we're seeing text instead of trees & Jacks VW. The first few notes @1.48 even sound like Dies Irae / the theme from The Shining
