The rape scene (again)
It bored me like hell. Simple as that.
shareReally? I found it absolutely traumatising. Do you say it's boring because of the run-time?
Very good movie anyway, very hard to watch.
"He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!"
I have seen that scene so I will not be watching this movie. This scene affects me like Clockwork Orange affects me. Like you just want to jump into the movie and save her and kick that guy right in the head. Repeatedly.
Gotta wonder about the dude in the backgorund during the rape scene. The guy who turns around and walks away.
That was almost as disturbing as what was going on in the foreground.
"Passion is just insanity in a cashmere sweater!"
The guy turning around made me decide I should carry a gun around. Because I thought, "if that was me, would I have done differently? Would I have helped her or be too scared to come close?" and I came to the conclusion that having a gun, I'd me more than happy to run up there and blow his brains up.

How old are you? I'm guessing you're around 12-14 and you're trying to look tough or like a badass. If this scene didn't affect you, I have lost all hope in the young generation

You almost wrote "sensual" didn't you? Good catch about the violent bits. You're good.
shareRape can be very sexy? Whether it's in movies or in real life, it's the least sexy thing I could possibly imagine. I wonder what goes on in people's heads sometimes I really do. My faith in humanity is diminishing faster every single day!
shareReaons like this is exactly why I can't believe that GOD was manmade.

She stops in shock when she sees the prostitute get struck, and you wonder if she's also hesitating because she may intercede. If she had kept going, she may have got away.
The man we see in the background turns around and leaves a dangerous situation. Of course you want him to stop what's happening, and we all hope we'd be the kind of person who would help another in an emergency...but his leaving may have saved his life.
