What happened to Alex and later Pierre and himself is partly his fault.
The sexist behaviour at the party, pissing off his girlfriend and letting her leave alone. Being a violent macho guy hitting people and wanting revenge... Tenia was monstrous but Marcus was a dork.
Poor Alex, poor women who date and marry those types.
Marcus was a fool. He wasn't completely responsible for the events. Obviously the source of all mayhem was Le Tenia. However that fat (piece of shaite) guy for hire manipulated Marcus into that whole revenge trip.

which is why both Marcus and Pierre reacted so violently and out of control. They both felt guilty for what had happened. Marcus more obviously because he knew what a douche he had been that night and how he had driven Alex off himself. But also Pierre because he had let her slip away by herself despite all his concerns that she shouldnt go. Of course his fury didnt come out until he attacked the guy with the fire extinguisher. And then he finds he cant stop...

Yes, I agree. The title sums it up perfectly. Their actions are irreversible, and the ending becomes so painful to watch, when we think about it. A few well-thought decisions would prevent it all.
Pierre is a great character tho, he shows we all have a destructive and violent side to ourselves.
