The beginning sequence of the film was intended to make you feel nauseous, like "you're about to vomit" so if it did so, it accomplished it's goal! Fun trivia..
The first 30 minutes of the film has a background noise with a frequency of 28 Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea, sickness and vertigo. It was a cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film. In fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction.
I wonder if that translates to most people viewing the film now - that is, not in a movie theater. Only the best HT sound systems will have a sub that can go down to 28 Hz. For anyone streaming this on their PC or -gasp- portable device, I think the nauseating effect diminished.
they could have just as well film 30 minutes of people pooing... it would have made people feel sick right? yet it would be stupid... You are saying this movie was the equivalent of watching JACKASS? so should JACKASS be regarded as "High Art" to you?
I was curious about this movie and about what was the big fuzz, Unfortunately I could not really watch this. the camera work was ridiculous. I do NOT care if it was on purpose or not. it was annoying and pretentious. Im surprised it has fans
