I think in human years he's technically supposed to be 16..or 18. I can't remember. The whole age thing was always screwy.

In human years he looks about 16, but if memory serves he is just around 500 years old, to determine this in the Third Inuyasha movie Inuyasha is born just before his father dies, when his father dies he had the sword Sounga, afterwords Totosai and Miyoga sealed away the sword for internity but only lasted 700 years, now sence it was the sword was unsealed in Kagomes era and Inuyashas era is 200 years in the past that would make him around 500 or so.
