It says 6 on IMDb, but 8 on Amazon. I'm asking because I want to buy the box set because I love this show, it's so cute, but have never finished watching it in its entirety. So, just making sure.

Only 6 seasons have been officially released by Viz on DVD so far (and I didn't even realize the 6th had come out -- nillindeiel needs to go to the store now), from what it says on Amazon for season 6 specifically, it doesn't look like it goes to Episode 167 (which was the last episode that aired) so there's still at least one more if not two seasons for Viz to release.
If you're looking at that item on Amazon that claims to be "Complete series 1-8" that's being sold by an independant seller through Amazon, realize that (from what I've read/heard) it's a bootleg copy of the series.
If you're fine with not supporting the makers of the show, then by all means go for it, but I would (personally) recommend buying official copies for two main reasons: 1) Bootlegs tend to have a lower visual quality. 2) By buying the official copies it shows that there are still people interested in the show (and hopefully, now that the manga is over, they'll resume making the anime). So either buy the seasons separately, or it's possible that Viz may put out an official complete set once they've released everything.
