So Naraku spends all this time trying to get the jewel and defiled it, But He died and he wanted his wish to come true after his death. what was his wish.
shareHis ultimate wish was to have Kikyou's heart. However that was never going to be the case as Kikyou loved Inuyasha already. So he was jealous, and decided to become Naraku and kill Kikyou, because he decided if he can't have her Inuyasha wasn't going to.
So with his wish, it was to drag Kagome into the jewel for all eternity to fight the demons inside of it. It was the same situation, as he still hated Inuyasha even with Kikyou dead again. He knew Inuyasha cared for Kagome as much as Kikyou, and he would do anything to make Inuyasha suffer one last time, with him killing Naraku but also losing his wife.
