Live-Action Inuyasha Film - Who'd you cast?

I was just thinking today (while vacuuming no less!) about who could play a live-action Inuyasha in like a 'perfect dream casting' sort of way, not like a 'could ever possibly ever happen in a million years' sort of way, and the only person who popped up in my head was a young Christian Slater (think like 'Heathers'/'Pump up the Volume'/'Robin Hood' classic years when he was at his peak of popularity '89-'91)!
Probably mostly the voice and the eyebrows, but he had that same spunky sort of 'rascal' qualities in his younger years and early films.

But I can't for the life of my think of any young actors nowadays who would fit the role - are there any youngin's here who know of any late teen/early 20's actors who could pull off a live-action version of the Inuyasha character?
I'm too old now (29) to be able to be 'in the know' about any new up and comers who might fit the bill.
Anyone have any good candidates they'd like to nominate?

P.S. - River Phoenix also had that Inuyasha-ish look, come to think of it.
Maybe I'll do some realistic sketches with either River Phoenix or (young)Christian Slater as Inu...Hmmm...goes off to search for photo references to use.

I have the same problem I always have with wishcasts for this series - it's too wrapped up in Japanese mythology and culture for me to be able to imagine non-Japanese actors in the roles. It's not even like an anime set in modern Japan would be; you could make excuses for at least a few non-Asian actors in a modern series, but foreigners were all but unknown in Sengoku-era Japan.

That's true, unfortunately I'm not very familiar with many Japanese actors. I do like Takeshi Kaneshiro (I believe he's of half-Japanese & half-Chinese decent) from 'Flying House of Daggers', but I can't picture him as any of the characters.
I think my problem is that I got hooked on the English dubbed version of the series, so naturally I'm picturing a live actor who *sounds* similar to the characters in the version that I've watched.
Does that make any sense, or am I delusional?
Anyhoo, I stumbled upon another actor for my fantasy 'casting' of a live-Inuyasha (in my dreams) - Christopher Gorham as Miroku!

Yes, I know - he's caucasian, but his voice and height and overall appearance are similar to what I imagine a real-life Miroku to possibly look like.
