you know as weird as it sounds, i honestly think that inuyasha's father gave the right swords to his sons. i think since he was a 'great dog demon'. he also understood human emotions. inuyasha has more of his father's qualities in him, and also the face that he is human helps an awful. inuyasha is like a mixture between dog and human, he's loyal and protective (given the right teacher) in kagome's case) and compassionate and loving like human.

i think in a way, he felt as though inuyasha could do more with tetsaiga than sessy could.
I think him meeting Rin was meant to happen, because before he was proud, cocky and a little bit cruel to humans. Until Rin came on the same. Considering that he is also a dog demon, he is fiercely loyal to Rin, just as Inuyasha to Kagome. He just has difficulty showing, and he refuses to greatly.

I think their father wanted them to learn to protect someone, just has he had learned and probably knew how to do, but did more so when he met Inuyasha's Mother.

The father gave Inuyasha Tetsusaiga and Sesshomaur Tensaiga so the two brothers couldn't over power one another. Imagine Inuyasha fighting Sesshomaru with a sword that can't cut and while Sesshomaru is blasting the WindScar at InuYasha and making volcanic cresents rofl. Not fair now is it? Both sons could have benefited from the sword to be honest,its a freak of nature and a beast! ]laugh]

To me,I don't see why Sesshomaru stressed over Tetsusaiga so much,he had Tokijin and that was the strongest sword in the whole series because it could even withstand the Back Lash Wave. After awhile in the anime,Tensaiga was stronger than Tetsusaiga due to the Meidou Zangetsuha.but that was eventually absorbed by Tetsusaiga so it was useless,again

Finally,once Sesshomaru lets go of his greed and hatred and jealousy towards InuYasha he gets a new sword,which is BEAST AND I MEAN BEAST! It was literally the strongest word in the series and was a gift from his father along inside of his arm which he had the whole time!Bakusaiga!! So I don't see why he was tripping over that ratty thing rofl sorry but watching the whole series I think Sesshomaru had it a lil better all along.
