I'm a newcomer to the series...

I've seen the first season and the first two episodes of the second, and that's it. I know there are movies, too, and I was wondering what order I should watch everything in. Are the movies independent of the show, or do they fit in with it somewhere? Thanks.

I personally would watch the movies in the order of the years of their release, as it seems right.

Here's the order someone else posted in another thread:

Where do the movies fit in terms of continuity?
The order the series should be watched in is as follows:
Episodes 1 - 54
Movie 1
Episodes 55 - 95
Movie 2
Episodes 96 - 136
Movie 3
Episodes 137 - 167
Movie 4
Episodes 1 - 26

I'm new to the series too - and absolutely love Inuyasha (great show - great characters!)
I'm only at episode 22 - boy do I have *a lot* to catch up on. :)
So far, I've just been watching the episodes on youtube - anyone know if Blockbuster or Rogers Video (Canadian chain only, I think) ever carries any of the Inuyasha movies or television series?
I'm getting sick of sitting in front of my computer screen with my butt going numb - love to switch to a chair or couch and kick up my feet whilst watching!
Thanks! ;)

I'm a lil confused. On IMDB it shows only 140 episodes. What/Where are the other 27? I know the last 26 are from Final Act, but the ones before that?

I think "Captain Planet" is something that should be mandatory to watch nowadays.

Don't trust IMDB info. It can be inaccurate. The original series was 167 episodes. Season 7 was episodes 139-167. I guess you could Netflix the last season or something. The last episode of the original series was The Bond Between Them, Use the Sacred Jewel Shard! (Part 2). If you've seen/have everything up to that episode that's all before Final Act.

I'm brand spanking new to this series, and I'm a little obsessed with it :P
Just out of curiosity, why did they not continue the series, and make "Inuyasha: The Final Act" to finish up the storyline? I can see some people freaking out if the series just stopped without a resolution (at least, that's what I'm gathering happened? I haven't finished the regular series yet. Not even close haha)

Yeah they call me the Hiphopopotamus, my lyrics are bottomless..............
