I don't know about that. She did have more of a personality than her son did and was a bit more eccentric when it came to certain things. But yeah, Sesshoumaru did inherit her apathy, though.

In the beginning, he definitely had her apathy, but as the show went on, you can see that he does care about people, particularly Rin.
His mother maybe apathetic about others in general, but she certainly cares about her son's feelings. She did not have to save Rin, but she chose to.
I really wish they would explain what really happened between her and the father. I always wonder if his affair with Izayoi was in secret or if she knew and did not care, or if she was hurt but could not fix the situation.
