I think the director took a page from The Machinist, but the total lack of an ending really annoyed me. I realized I was getting played when the credits started rolling at the end and I was still watching the frames real closely of the random surveillance videos looking for an answer (that never comes, of course). Too bad-it could have been a magic combination with Remar and Turturro, if the director wasn't such a slacker.
shareMy guess is that it was "supposed" to be more about Turturro's nightmare obsession with his wife's death, but I think they ran out of *beep* used furniture stores to raid, so they made it into a conspiracy.
This could have actually been a REALLY GOOD movie if the director and writer weren't fools.
We could have had a really intense mystery involving a wife involved with a drug deal, a rogue anti-corruption police force, and some good psychological drama with Turturro's character staring into surveillance video and perhaps a dramatic ending with Turturro and Remar facing off over Remar's wife.
