DON'T!!! I love John Turturro, but this movie is a total and utter waste of time! It has an artistic way about it, but that's it. I won't waste your time with a review. Just do yourself a favor, and miss it. Unless you have a morphine drip or a gun to your head that is.
I had wondered if I was the only one that missed the 'ending.' So relieved to see I am not the only disappointed person that has seen this movie. Too bad I didn't read the reviews FIRST!
Watch The Shining instead. There's too much Kubrick rip-off in this (I certainly wouldn't call it 'giving a nod' as some reviewers say). The photographer should be ashamed of himself.
It's a great movie, and I'm sure there are more people out there that would enjoy the viewing rather than despise it. The matter-of-fact is that you can't keep everyone happy, so why not write a comment of a movie you enjoyed rather than supposedly waste more time on something you didn't?

I agree. I wanted to really like this film and was waiting for a good ending, but nothing happened. No wonder it was only released in Denmark. Their cinema must really be lacking. The visuals were pretty good, but that's about it.
And to answer your question necrosadist (which in itself sounds pretty sick), we write negative reviews to save other people the hour and a half spent watching a film that isn't worth it.
Yeah well, let me tell you something Mr Scary (which in itself sounds poxy). If everyone decided to watch or not to watch a movie because some genius wrote some review of his thoughts on a flick, we probably would have missed over our lifetime watching The Exorcist.

this is a good movie, but you have to pay alot of attention and look for all of the director cues. also it helps to have read a hubert selby novel to understand what he was going for in the script. and if you've ever played silent hill 2 (and understand it) this movie is similar to that.
Why should anyone else let someone else's view on a film dissuade them from seeing it? People have different tastes and preferences. I'm glad I don't let others color my decisions so easily, or I would have missed out on some incredible movies that are misunderstood by many on this site.
