Final episodes ever

Did we ever get to see the final episodes of season 4 in Australia (or are they yet to show them)?

If I missed them, could someone please give me a brief rundown of what happened. Did Nikki end up with Adam? And what about Kelly and Justin?

reply

I'm not from Australia but i saw the final epi.
Kel doesn't end up with Justin :(, they just kiss at her farewell party, she moves to Brisbane with Corey :(
As for Nikki and Adam... i don't remember much and i don't give a damn about those two but i guess she ends up with that guy she *beep* on their first date (don't remember his name either).
Lucy dumps Piers and stays with Stu, and Bree ends up with Zelko.

reply

What about Simon and Christian?

reply

Simon was the only original char left in the season finale (poor little thing), and Christian left some episodes ago cuz he got into trouble with Stu over his ex (Karen).

reply

So Lucy and Stu got together - that's cool!

I thought that Kelly and Justin should have ended up together after that whole thing with his girlfriend who died, and how he was all weird when she got with Frank. I didn't really like Corey and I kind of think that storyline was a bit wrong - almost like they were together because they were both Aboriginal (because I didn't really think he was all that nice to her or considerate with her) but anyways ... it's only a show.

Thanks for the rundown, I appreciate it!

Also, speaking of Nikki ... Anna Torv's (who played Nikki) father and Lachlan Murdoch's mother are brother and sister ... so that makes Anna and Lachlan cousins (I think she is Sarah and Lachlan's son Kalen's godmother) - just a bit of trivia for you.

reply

You're welcome!
haha, i didn't like Corey either! i didn't like the way he and Kelly met (boy, they hadn't even said hello to each other that he went straight away and kissed her!), besides i didn't like the way Kelly cheated on Frank and consequently dumped him, too mean of her...

reply

What happened to Simon I mean are he and Jeff still together?

reply

Oh sorry! no , Jeff went down on a hairdresser to win a contest in which Bree was also participating, and he won. Justin happened to see the two guys "in action" in the toilet and told Sim, who got really angry (he did have a reason to) and dumped Jeff.

reply

Thanks for that!

hey! u r welcome (dremer-2)

Were more episodes filmed for the finale series as its ends really arubtly, and what was with key characters just leaving half way through the season like evan. No wonder it bombed on aus tv.

get Better Off Dead in the IMDB top 250

Ten will air the remaining episodes starting Wednesday at 10:45pm.

Thanks so much for the info dremer-2!!!!!!!!

I can't remember where we are up to... wasn't the last one about adam and stu getting together to play pool and the entire show backtracking their pasts?

reply

I think we got further than that. I think the short red haired girl (I can't remember her name) just dumped her French/English fiance, Stu had found out about Christian and his ex, and Adam and Nikki got together again. I THINK!

reply

Final episode was just shown on chanel 10 in aus tonight...

Meh. This show went downhill when the original cast started leaving.

reply

I just saw the remaining episode ever tonight too. I still think it was a great show that can't be matched by any Australian drama on television at the moment (during the ratings period). Maybe it was a bad move for Network 10 to write out a lot of original characters. I found it hard to adjust at first but once I got used to the new characters, I found it still a worthwhile show. I will miss the show. (I was also a fan of the quirky The Alice too. A pity that didn't last.)

Viewers, think outside the square.

reply

I too took a little while to get used to the new characters.

I only just started to like Bree about 4 episodes ago, but I always liked Justin, Stu and Nikki. I thought Lucy was a bit weird and annoying at the beginning. But then again, I was getting sick of Miranda, Richie and Christian before they left. I think my favourite character was Tidy - he and Gabrielle were great!

I think Kelly should have ended up with Justin not Corey, but I liked how they ended things with Nikki and Adam. I also thought the way they left Simon's story line was wrong - it was so stereotypical, the gay guy ends up alone.

The last episode did seem a bit rushed, but I guess that's because usually things took ages to happen on the show.

All in all, it was a great show (even with the new characters once you got used to them) and channel 10 should have tried to hang onto it longer.

reply

It was their decision to leave as they allof them were signed for 3 series!
The only mistake that Ten had done is to air series 4 at a bad time slot and to split the screening of series 4 to so many parts (first they aired the first 3 episodes, than in January 2005 they brought it back showing episodes 4-12 and than just in November continued to air it 'til the end besides the 2 parts special-"The Best of The Secret Life of Us")

reply

I agree with you (that's what I meant about channel 10 should have tried to hang onto it longer).

They shouldn't have split the season up like that or put it in a crap timeslot. They had some advertising before season 4 was to begin (about there being new characters, etc) but they didn't leave it on in that 8:30 Monday nights (I think) timeslot.

It was wrong ... such a great show.

reply

Despite Series 4 being in production from late 2003 until mid 2004, Channel 10 didn't screen the lacklustre Finale until Dec '05. Due to poor ratings and awkward timeslots Series 4 was screened in 3 parts over almost a 2 year period (Feb '04 to Dec '05) making it hard to follow, causing myself as a viewer to lose interest in the show and finding myself less attached to the characters each time the show "returned".

There seemed to be too many character changes in the 4th Season with many unlikable characters coming on board. Although I did find myself liking Lucy toward the end despite thinking she was a total freak at the start.

By Season 4 the show had all but lost it's magic that was there in Seasons 1, 2, and most of Season 3.

There was alot of character changes close to the end but Evan leaving was the last straw. Up to that point I would have loved to see another series but now I think it's best that it has finished up. I will miss that intoxicating opening music, really got ya in a good mood and will now forever remind me of my time in that wonderful city.

It was good while it lasted but as they say all good things must come to an end.........
