I've checked and the DVD most available in America is fullscreen only. However, I've found where the Region2 disc (ASIN B000063W2R) is widescreen... supposedly. Thought I'd ask here for comfirmation.

Any idea why it's fullscreen only here in the States? It's DVD, not VHS, for crying out loud!

No idea. But I can confirm that the R2 release is 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen.

Really? I may have to pick this up since I have region free DVD player, I did the same thing with the Pokemon movies.
