I heard that there is a visual reference to the animated band Goriilaz in the movie, on a newspaper or something.
Can anyone Validify this?

Hmm… not sure about this. I'll have to check it out.

When I was just watching this, I instantly thought of the Gorillaz when the Gangreen Gang first showed up. I think they it just seemed like Murdoc would have fit right in there with their style.

If I find out any specific references I'll be sure to let you know!

Okay, this is weird.
I just randomly came across this on another website and checked it out.

At about 21:30 into the movie, Mojo Jojo is reading a newspaper with the headline “Freaky Bug-Eyed Wierdo Girls Broke Everything." As the camera zooms out, revealing the entire paper, a Gorillaz poster is in the upper left hand corner of the newspaper.
