After the disaster, we cut to the house. So then they stroke the freaking mayor of a city and they just left? Anyway, he gave them that speech about not using their powers, but he didn't tell them that what they did was wrong and why. When they go to school the next day they're all happy-go-lucky. I know he's new at being a parent and all, but we're not talking about a glass or something.

What? Did you even see the scene when they went back to school. They were incredibly far from "happy go lucky"!
