Took me 12 years but I finally got around to watching it...

Saw bits and pieces in that period, but sat and watched it all last night. Got to say it was extremely dull.

It started off with the rather ironic London riots, followed by what appeared to be the outbreak of the virus... that was it, there was no story afterwards.

The relationship between Selena and Jim was also forced and just looked unnatural, the ending left alot to be desired, and the scenes with the army were just weird. In fact, what was even more funny is they met absoloutely no one along the way apart from the sexually depraved army mob, who were shoehorned in as villains to try and make it a bit more interesting.

Speaking of which, the contrast between Jim at the beginning and at the end was rather amusing, over a period of a few days he managed to transform into Rambo.

Typical Danny Boyle film - massively overrated.

You say there was no story after he left hospital - on several occasions they are chased/attacked by the infected

you say he didn't meet any other survivors - yet Jim met selena and that guy can't remember his name then they met the man and his daughter. On their way to Manchester they didn't see anyone as they took an isolated route so they didn't run into any infected. Then they met the survivors of the army base.

although I didn't like the army part I did like the ending as we was lead to believe the infection was world wide then we find out it's just Britain, I personally thought that was a good twist. It was also good that it showed some of the soldiers had basically went crazy as many people probably would if they thought they where the last survivors in the world especially if they were all men as one soldiers points out their not living their just waiting to die without women they can't repopulate the world

The relationship between Jim and Selena was one of the best part of the movie for me.. It was a natural growth towards each other. The final scene where they got together was great.

I guess you missed the part where Selena and Mark told Jim they have not seen anyone who was not infected in several days.. it's 28 days in.. almost everyone is dead or infected....

Well he is a guy that woke up from a coma to find all his loved ones are gone .. and now people he met and started to care for will get hurt. That was his breaking point.

If the relationship between Jim and Selena seems forced them consider for a moment that they were perfect strangers who were thrust into each others lives. They are in a situation where they have to depend on each other to survive but also might have to kill the other without a moments notice. So if anything, "a little forced" is the only thing that makes any sense.
