If the person turns into a zombie within a couple of minutes how did the virus leave the uk, no plane with the virus should have ever taken off or no ferry should have left port. So for the virus to leave Britain the pilot/captain would have to knowingly take off with an infected person on board and cause the destruction of humanity. Even the virus leaving london (or where ever the testing centre was) doesn't seem that likely
Also it has to be spread by blood. To spread quickly the police/army would have to be pretty incompetent. if it was airborne and it took a longer time to turn into a zombie then fair enough, but it seems very unrealistic for a virus like that to spread across the world so fast
It didn't spread overseas. That was propaganda to keep people from the leaving. That chained up army dude was ranting about, that they were quarantined because it was a diseased island.
Maybe I should have watched the whole film before commenting, but still, would the virus really spread throughout the whole country within 28 days? are zombies smart enough to move to different cities
It's a good point they're definitely mindless and not that well coordinated. It started in Cambridge but I have no knowledge of how well connected that is to the rest of England. Its possible they'd know enough to still follow roads. And if we assumed they spread in every direction and are constsntly running I guess it's possible.
I read somewhere that in a real life zombie apocalypse that conforms to the standard fictional rules (you become a zombie when bitten, etc) it would take roughly three months for the whole WORLD to be consumed. So it seems pretty realistic that it would spread through one small island in one month.
What is the time to become a zombie once bitten officially? I would understand a country or entire continent or more is they are connected but if there was a zombie outbreak in europe, how would it get to the americas.
2. it's a very typical for people to criticize helplessly the government is overthrown in zombie movies. It's a valid criticism, but you also wouldn't have much of a show if it was just soldiers mowing down dead people. However, the infected are not zombies. They are significantly faster, stronger, and more durable. they literally overwhelm you AND infection spreads in seconds.
These were not zombies, first of all. Zombies are reanimated corpses with limited brain and physical activity. Infected are turned in a minute, they retain their physical capability, brain functionality, including some cognitive functions. You can see that people were able to use their bodies, utter words like "I hate you", and chase after specific people, unlike zombies, who had poor control of their limbs and were in a state of progressive decay, hence infected people would run like Olympic sprinters.
One of the characters mentions being at the airport with this family and him being the only one that made it out unharmed. He said it spread quickly. Any effort from police or military would have mixed results, especially in the beginning when most didn't know what was going on or how the virus was passed onto others. At the end of the second movie we see that the virus reached France, so we can assume that it hadn't spread out of Great Britain until then. Ireland would also be safe unless a boat with infected people drifting in the sea would wash ashore somehow.

The initial outbreak did not escape Britain. In the sequel they mentioned that other countries sealed their border such as France sealed off the tunnel from Dover to the Pas-de-Calais (which is where the channel tunnel ends).
So only Britain was affected by the rage virus.
The reason it spread in the 2nd movie is because a 2nd outbreak happened with the kids dad getting infected and he later bit his son who is a carrier for the virus like his mother. So he took the infection to France thanks to that helicopter guy, and something happened thus causing the virus to spread into mainland Europe.
