Hannah was a bit young when the film ended but in a few years she would have raging hormones and be a young woman. With no other males around to be amorous with-- besides Jim-- it seems inevitable that Hannah would probably develop feelings for him and eventually both women would share him. Thoughts?

I believe the threesome were rescued and probably flown to a safe country until such time as it was safe to return to the UK. I'd like to have thought that they stayed together though since Hannah's parents were both dead. Plus they had been through an awful lot together and had formed a strong bond. Selena seemed to feel very protective/maternal towards Hannah.
I would like to think that, except at the end of the movie Selena said something like "Do you think they saw us this time?" That leads me to believe that they were seen and simply left for dead. The 'HELP' sign was clearly visible to the pilot and he didn't land or attempt to communicate with them

Actually, the sign was HELLO and they were jumping and waving (but not like rabid Infected), and the plane flew back over. I think someone said that the dialogue from the pilot was positive, can't remember. But we assume they were rescued, maybe not by that jet but by a more suitable form of air transportation like a helicopter. They couldn't travel in a fighter jet lol.
Oooops... I meant 'HELLO'! Since the jet passed by several times: Why couldn't they send a plane the first or second or third time they saw Selena & Co. and the sign?? I think they were left for dead.

I read on here that the pilot was showing off a bit for the cameras so they kept it in. It's quite a fast plane so they were probably checking it out a few times before radioing ahead their position
It felt very upbeat at the end. I am almost certain they were rescued.
The dialogue the pilot says at the end is Finnish for "can you send a helicopter?" (or something along those lines) which indicates that they most likely got rescued.
People don't normally attempt to land fighter jets in hilly country fields, and such aircraft don't have means of communication with people on the ground who don't have military band radios.
Life is not the opposite of Death, Death is the opposite of Birth. Life is eternal. -Anathema
There was no place for a jet to land... They likely had to radio back to wherever it came from, notify command of survivors and send a helicopter or something.
"You're going to need a bigger boat." - Chief Brody
I think the "do you think they saw us this time?" was because they made a bigger sign, this time. You see her working on it and then them running to put it out. I just assumed they tried before but were not seen. Therefore they made an even bigger sign. It was a lighthearted ending and we are to assume they were rescued and so Hannah wouldn't need to share Jim.
The reason for not landing the plane immedately was probably because there were other infected people nearby, even if they had weakened (like that shock-faced infected man in the final part).
The reason could also have something to do with pilots not liking to land their high-speed jets on grassy terrain covered in trees, stone walls, lakes and steep hills. . .
Besides, what would be the point of landing? It's a small fighter jet with a tiny cockpit. What would the pilot do, tie the people to his wings and fly off with them?
This discussion got off topic. I believe the original question pertained to pedophilia and polygamy. Never-mind, I'm glad we got to the feasibility of fighter jets landing on rough terrain. Seriously, why did anyone respond to the original post? Jim, just like the soldiers, wanted that a** all to himself. Ha ha
Well, lets say they weren't rescued and now their trapped on an island full of diseased ridden corpses. I'd guess they would stay at the farm (or whatever it was they were at) for awhile and get curious and travel back into a town or something, in the sequel it's 28 weeks before people came back, and 28 days takes place over like a week/few days time? So about half a years time before outsiders came into England. I doubt they would've gotten to the point of needing to procreate in that period of time, and I'm sure they could live that long and get rescued when people started coming back to the island.
So no, I don't think they would have a love triangle thing.
They were definitely rescued at the end. We're left to assume that the chopper the pilot called in picked them up later. It's funny how both 28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later end with an aircraft but one has a 'happy' ending while the other ending's pretty dark in tone.

Well with the original post, she talked about her coming into womanhood then wanting to be amorous so it's not pedophilia, just human nature. As far as the original question goes, if they were not rescued and survived long enough for them to all be of age or close to it (it is set in a time where laws don't apply anymore) I think it'd probably happen...unless they found another suitable male. There are a number of societies where the females mate with the alpha male to strengthen their tribes, etc. After watching 28 weeks later and shows like the Walking Dead, it is unlikely things will be "normal" again and people be rescued.

Thanks. Some people seemed to have a problem understanding my post. Even though I specifically said, "... in a few years... young woman." I agree with your point. If they were stranded together for several more years their idea of 'normal' would probably be very different than individuals living in society. The Walking Dead is a great example. I just look at little Carl and realize that he'll never be 'normal' again. One look at him and you realize that 'normal behavior' is relative to one's surroundings and situation.

Regardless of whether one thinks they got rescued or not, I would be interested in seeing your theory in a sequel :). Of course, as much as I might enjoy those scenes, there is also the possibility that Hannah could turn out gay and have to resort to going off by herself to fulfill her pleasure needs - or see if the other woman went both ways.

Thanks. You have a point. Hannah may, in fact, be a lesbian. That would have been entertaining, too. I just wondered what would happen if it were just the three of them for several years. They all care about each other and adding a romantic layer and a sort of rivalry between the women--- when Hannah comes of age-- could have been interesting.

No doubt. Let's just hope that they can develop another installment and make the "series" into a trilogy.
I'm surprised they haven't released a third installment in this series. The concept is a pretty good one and the first two movies made money. Apparently, they even have story ideas and a possible title for a sequel.
If they were stuck, and they procreated. Their children would be forced to be celibate, or engage in incest Not a pretty thought. Lets assume they got rescued, shall we?
Thanks for the links - sounds like the people involved are squabbling. We can only hope that another human quality besides squabbling wins out: greed :). I'm confident that it will, but hope they don't wait too long because it will probably have quality issues. For instance, I have no interest in seeing Bladerunner 2, which I heard is being thrown around.
You're welcome. Yeah, for whatever reason the people responsible for bringing a sequel to the big screen are no longer speaking to each other. I would hope greed would motivate them to put their differences aside to make money, but it's been 7 years and... nothing. At this point, as you pointed out, the quality of a sequel might start to suffer. However, they have some interesting ideas, so there is still a possibility they could make a really good film. I read something similar happened with Quentin Tarantino and his at-the-time-upcoming-now-shelved script The Hateful Eight. It's amazing how people can throw away a muti-million dollar profit over what probably amounts to hurt feelings. I heard that, too. I also heard they were considering bringing back Harrison Ford's character.
