What do you think?

It really started to heat up in season 2, but I think the best period of the show is season 3 & 4.

I saw the original which was okay. Didn't bother with this or any other reboots.

The original is certainly okay, but that's all. TNG is prime degrassi. It's a cultural touchstone for those who came of age in the 2000s. It made the jump from Canada to US in a way very few have.
