They take us all back to an era where mainstream movie studios weren't cranking out nothing but franchise films

THAT'S FUNNY...SINCE GHOST SHIP IS PART OF A FRANCHISE...THE DARK CASTLE FILMS...GHOST SHIP,THIRTEEN GHOSTS AND HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL...THEY RETOOLED AND CHANGED DIRECTION AFTER NONE OF THE THREE TURNED INTO A BIG HIT.

Why did you stop posting over at TMDB?

reply

I DROPPED TMDB AND THREE OTHER SITES WHEN I SETTLED IN HERE.

that site is confusing

Which one?

reply

TMDB

reply

Dark Castle Films is just a production company, that doesn't make all the films they make part of a franchise or related in any way!

reply

EXCEPT...WHEN IT STARTED THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING...RELATED FILMS WITH THE OLD UNIVERSAL HORROR FEEL...THEY DIDN'T PIVOT UNTIL THE INITIAL OFFERINGS DIDN'T BANK ENOUGH TO CONTINUE.

reply

That doesn’t make them part of a franchise though, having the same “feel.” The above person was referring to movies taking place in the same “universe,” actually sharing characters and plots.

reply

YES THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL PLAN...WELL SAID.

reply

I remember renting the VHS
