Am I the only one who wasn't impressed with the Director's Cut?

When I heard what a vast improvement the director's cut was over the theatrical version, I was quite excited to see it. By the time I got around to watching it, it was not long before the show first came out on Netflix, which looked promising in the trailers, so this was my way to hype myself up for the TV series.

Before I saw the director's cut, I remembered liking Daredevil when it first came out. I was a lot younger, so it looked cooler and darker than Spider-Man at the time. As I got older, though, I noticed the acting was mediocre, the writing was cheesy, the CGI was outdated, and the music even more outdated. At least the action scenes were decent, the ones that didn't rely too much on CGI anyway. Even the playground fight scene was enjoyable in spite of its absurdity.

But after knowing about the director's cut for years, and hearing and reading about more and more people praising that version, I thought it was finally time to give it a watch, see the movie as if for the first time after having not seeing the theatrical version for years. And........I was underwhelmed. The director's cut had nearly all the same problems the theatrical cut had, except now there was an added subplot with a drug addict that I couldn't care less about. Really, all this version did was make a mediocre movie 15-20 minutes longer. The only improvement for me was that you could see the bar fight at the beginning somewhat better, revealing some decent action choreography. But..... this is it? THIS is what people have been raving about on the internet? Was there something I missed?

A common defense people have used was that this version is more faithful to the Frank Miller comics, but if that's so, I see that only in the superficial sense. If anything, the show did a better job at looking more like the Frank Miller comics. The movie still feels like a product of the early 2000's, and nothing more.
