Why does Affleck look back on this in disgust?

I mean, he describes it as "embarrassing" without going into specifics as far as I know.

reply

Weird. Who knows. I'm just seeing it for the first time on TV, & I think it's pretty good!

reply

Personally< agree with you, writerchick89. I'm just now seeing it and I don't think it's bad. I like the athleticism & special affects, and Ben Affleck is not bad as Matt/Daredevil.

reply

Not speaking from someone who knows the comics well, as Affleck does. Of the few I have read the tone was a bit too light.. The film's tone was horribly uneven. I think Affleck thought the end would be something a bit different. Its not bad to me but there are things that could have been done better.

reply

Maybe he's an idiot?

Thought I was havin' trouble with my adding... It's all right now

reply

Because it wasn't very well received critically and financially. Funny though considering some of the other stinkers he's done.

reply

yeah this movie wasn't perfect but a masterpiece compared to a lot of movies he was doing at the time. Also, he met his wife on this movie so I don't see how it was a bad experience

Think he already met her when he filmed Pearl Habor.

reply

It might be as simple as:

A lot of people hated the movie and he does not want to antagonize them.

reply

I don't think he cares about antagonizing haters. It's not going to cause a ruckus if he says he likes it.

reply

Daredevil is his favorite comic book character and he was disappointed in the film. Simple as that.

Just once I'd like an actor to have the balls to say "I stand by it"

He probably loves the film and is just a sheep.

"See it with someone you love...Go by yourself"

Samuel Jackson said that for Snaked on a Plane. On the Graham Norton Show he talks about how much he had making it.

Sadly Ben Affleck isn't as well established as an actor so i can understand why he doesn't defend this.

Yeah, I saw that Samuel L Jackson interview on Norton. He even said he still enjoys watching that movie to this day (or, up to the point of his interview).

Also, I agree on your point about Ben Affleck. Additionally, he's one of those actors that EVERYONE has no problem bashing, no matter whatever redeeming anything the actor does. Even being cast as Batman, with so many respected actors and directors supporting him, people still manage to fault Affleck for something. Yet the likes of Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, Samuel L Jackson, and even Joss Whedon etc. can apparently "do no wrong," even though, in my opinion, the last part of the Dark Knight trilogy was way overrated and The Avengers received way too much undeserved praise.

reply

I agree.

"I'm the ultimate badass, you do NOT wanna f-ck wit me!"Hudson,Aliens😬

reply

It's because Affleck is an asshole IRL. It tends to bleed through into his characters. I will concede that he is not the main reason his Daredevil movie sucked. He did moderately well in it. He was also a decent Batman in those lame movies (but a terrible Bruce).

reply

Then they'd get criticised for "not being able to take criticism".

reply

Exactly.

He was nominated for "worst actor of the decade" for his role, won a "worst actor performance" Razzie, and overall had 9 Razzie nominations total. I think he was coming off the success of a few of his other movies, especially Good Will Hunting, and this knocked is ego down a few notches. At least he & Jen have each other to remember these times with :) lol

Because though he has all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh, skin, hair. He hasn't a single, clear, identifiable emotion. Except for greed and disgust. There was something horrible that happened inside of him and I don't know why..
