Season 2 Co-Pilot

Rewatching this series on Hulu (first time in 5 years) My question is the co-pilot episode says it's 14 months prior to what we've already seen & takes place as The Strike Team is just forming (their first day meeting) BUT Dani & Julien are shown working together for the first time just as they are in the actual pilot. It seems like two different timelines because in the original pilot The Strike Team is already up & running but everyone else seems to be in the same starting place. Anyone explain this time difference?

Bad writing. I really don't like that episode because it seems to mess up what the Pilot had established.

I've read the only reason that episode was written was to give the effects team more time to develop the burn make-up for Ronnie's face following his attack by Armadillo.

Yeah I knew that they were working on Ronnie's 'burn' during that episode but it really irks me that such a GREAT show messes up it's own continuity for this one episode. It seems to me (thought it's never established) in the pilot that The Strike Team has been operational for a few months at least (made evident by how familiar Vic, Shane, Lem & Ronnie seem with one another in the pilot episode) but by the end of the co-pilot we are right back where we originally started and it just doesn't match up. Ah well! I'll chalk it up to being somewhat of a reboot & give it a pass because the rest of the series is so solid.

Agreed on all counts.

Much as I love the show, continuity is something the show failed to get right at least a few times. Another example is (Season 7 Spoilers Incoming) the other cops saying Tina has been a cop for officially a year in the S7 finale, even though if you follow the timeline closely, it's only been about 4-5 months since the beginning of Season 5, where she had only been a cop for about two weeks.

And Vic's kids have all aged 6-7 years despite only 3 years having passed.

Please stop.

And now you see the flaw in the timeline of the show. At the end of the series Dutch says Ronnie is being arrested for everything he and the Strike Team did over the last three years. There's no way in hell the show took place in a three year time period. The Co-Pilot really *beep* the math over for the timeline.

reply

Absolutely. The timeline of this series really messes me up sometimes. Think about Jackson, born sometime in the months between seasons 3 and 4. He looks like he's 4-5 in the series finale.
