Whoever filmed this to look so bad on an HDTV is an *beep* It'll probably never get cleaned up and released on blu either.

heh. I'll be surprised if it actually looks any better. This idiot producer and his "gritty look" along with apparently filming it in 16mm will keep it looking terrible. I seem to remember Homicide having a "gritty" look ~20 years ago, but the DVDs still look better than Shield.

A. Like the other poster said, it was filmed in like an older format, not HDTV. Also, the gritty look is intentional and what made the series realistic. The way it was filmed almost gave it a reality TV look at times.
