it seemed like she didnt care bout her son

not only her but tha doctorz as well. it seemed like a racist town an i wouldnt be surprised if they purposly didnt do all they cud to help save tha boy. when hallie's character saw her son covered by tha sheetz tha nurse tryin to help her didnt look lyke she felt sorry for her. it looked lyke she was smiling/smirkin! also tha mom seems to forget bout her son jus a few days after her son died an iz in a relationship. she forgot bout her black son jus for some white chocolate wtf iz up wit that???

also i bet if thiz was turned around an it was a black man who found a white woman, black women wud be having a field day over this. oh lawd they wud be on the boardz sayin ''oh he self hatin, he aint strong enuff to be wit a proud independent successful black woman. oh he had to go an run to a little white gurl az soon az he had problemz'' blah blah blah! an its sick that sum black women actually think jus cuz another black woman goes to a white man it must be cuz she half white and tryna pleeze tha white man. im so sick of this

oppression, her husband on his way to death row, living in a racist town, a son who's obese because he's trying to 'eat his problems away(?)', and so on, and not that any of this makes it right but now try to understand where she was coming from, and maybe why she did all those things? It would have been so much better had she tried to comfort and help her son, for what he was going through as well (according to Halle those scenes were some of the hardest she'd ever had to do, and she kept apologizing to the young actor, because she felt bad for what was being done to him), but maybe 'Leticia' felt she didn't have it in her any more to help her son or herself (guessing here).

ThoseLittleRabbits, I really don't think she had forgotten about her son, and her 'actions' proved that if you really look hard at what she did after he died, you will see just how much it affected her. As for what happened between the two characters 'sexually' (much too graphic for me and as you can see, in the beginning with the anal sex part does she really look like she enjoying it, look closely? She looked angry to me especially the way she looked back at him, then when he 'turned her around', without using protection mind you, the situation changed but I guess that's how they figured she'd come to grips with handling the death of her son and husband), I think this particular part could have been done another way. Your comment about the 'black man white woman scenario' is probably correct, and I agree with your last sentence.

Racist town? What the hell did you see in this movie that I didn't?
