Heath Ledger should have 3 Oscars

He was absolutely amazing in this movie too. You could see his pain. I felt like comforting him and saying this isn't really real! You're an actor in a movie, you don't have to be like this. lol. He always went that extra step in all of his roles than most actors do and he forces himself to feel the feelings of his characters. And it's all evident by looking at his face. Of course the other Oscar being for Brokeback Mountain.

He was wonderful, I agree. I was seriously bummed that he was not given much screen time!

Agreed, I think Heath stole the movie. He deserves four Oscars though, his acting in Candy was equally amazing.

People have been nominated for oscars for way less screen time then Ledgers in this movie.

This has always been my favourite Heath Ledger performance.

I watched this film years and years ago and remember being struck by his performance.

He says virtually nothing in this but his pain, isolation and confusion comes off him in waves, it's forceful, affects you almost like a physical blow.

I still find it hard to believe that he's gone and it breaks my heart that we are deprived of his sensitivity and brilliance.

Look at this, it's a nighty. She would look sexy in that, you'd look like a moose!

I agree his acting in this is once again sublime / faultless. I do believe his best work is 'Brokeback' followed up by 'Candy' then 'Two Hands'. Actually Daniel Day Lewis dedicated his oscar (There Will Be Blood) to Heath (see you tube for his acceptance speech), he gave special mention of Heath's performance in this movie and Brokeback.

In retrospect this movie is really centered on Heath's role and not Billy Bob Thornton's character.

Have you seen Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast or Jim Broadbent in Iris?
