Was it explicitly said that she designed it? I thought it was just that she worked for the company that did. I seem to remember her even saying that she couldn't figure it out.

I think that Sasha did design the cube but didn't know that they were putting people inside. When she found out, that's when she ran into the cube with the info so they wouldn't know where to look for her. Obviously she was wrong though because of what Kate was hired to do. The OP is right though. Why the hell would she run into something that sinister...and she knew this because SHE designed it! SMDH!
shareI feel like she did it more so to protect the information than herself. She didn't seem to want to get out and offered no help on getting out. She even tried to convince Kate it was futile to escape.
In an effort to ensure the information wouldn't be recovered, she went to the one place she knew would destroy it, and would least likely be followed to.
I tend to think the same way. The thing is, if she did what is said she did in the movie (crash planes, mess with stock exchange and so on) would she be so morally right as to choose her death over this?
A superhacker surely would know a way to get the information in a place IZON would never find.
