i agree, because she is damn good at climbing up and down those ladders. I think she was faking it definitly. But then again, 'nothing in the cube is random' aparantly so maybe there was a reason for her to wear the watch, although i cant think of one.

Are you kidding. I think everything is random. The direction of gravity, The speed of events, the objects that kill people, heck even the "4th" dimension was a plot device to explain how each door randomly linked to differen't places. And yes it was random. There was no order in the cube.

But the only reason Quentin realises that she needs them was because they took Holloway's jewelry but left Leaven's glasses. And since nothing in the cube is random, Quentin was meant to find that Leaven needed to use the cube coordinates. But the only reason he realises that is because Holloway is missing her jewelry. Think about it.

i think so! i've said that because when the "concern" girl pulled sasha when she will already be hit by the slicing cube.. haha.. she stopped! and she turned her face at the right side so that she won't be hit by that! how come she knew that????

have a cousin that is blind, they actually do have watches that look like that but they have a lid that flips up or the braille on the face..as for the rest...hmmm....haven't decided . but maybe the choice was to drop clues that she might be suspect or maybe she really is blind...

I'd of thought blind hackers would probably use braille keyboards. I know a few blind people who live normal lives with technology assisting them and braille keyboards and them talk type programs are a God send.

There are a few blind people here at work. They touch-type and they have a screen reader software package installed (JAWS by Freedom Scientific).

Edit: Oh yeah, at least one of them does wear a watch also. He can open the "face" of the watch and feel the hands to tell the time.

Speaking of which does any one else think it was a really bad idea to escape into the cube. Yea this girl must be a genius. She coulden't run to Mexico or Brazil... Nope she heads into the little death trap she helped build.

I haven't finished watching the film but I just wanted to mention that the blind certainly do wear watches...because they are blind they don't need to know what time it is?? Watches that look completely normal like can be vocal watches, braille based watches or even some blind wear watches for a sense of normalcy. It is not an uncommon thing and certainly nothing to be nit picking over. The Blind do MANY thing that the sighted do as well...INCLUDING computer work. In fact the blind have more capability than probably any other physically handicapped group. They can even go to movies now with descriptive films...a watch, a hacker, very feasible, blind or not.

Sasha is blind and she is a genius, thats why she could do all these things.

There is no point to the plot for her to be faking it. She escaped into the cube because thats the only place she could hide - becuase she was BLIND.

I have to agree with marktheblake... Sasha is blind. They make no reference to her not being blind for the audience to pick up. This isn't one of those things that they leave up to the imagination.

Well, if she let herself into the cube it can't have been put on her, so it must be hers. The first thing that comes to mind is that it has an alarm on it...but then how would she have set it? If she had help it'd make sense. So I reckon it could be she knew the time the cube would dissepate and had help, or she's just very rich and vain and likes to wear expensive watches she can't actually use.

Or she isn't blind, but then given she's meant to be really bright you'd think she'd consider the watch may be a bit of a giveaway.

Unless it's a bit from column A and a bit from column C. That is to say, she's not blind and she did know the exit time for the cube. She took the watch so she could escape and if she was confronted about it she'd say she was just rich and vain.

How she thought she'd get away from the cubes location though after it dissepated I don't know.

Maybe she was captured after all, and when she woke up with sunglasses on she just pressumed she was blind.

Why Sasha would rather be confined in the Cube with no escape rather than caught by Izon is the main question, I think. Maybe she thought she could figure it out and couldn't, so she gave up at the end. I don't know why she didn't offer to help the others from the beginning... apparently she wanted to die there.

hmmm, after reading all of the theories..i have conjured one of my own...

KATE is either working for IZON or was forced by IZON to be the one to take the necklace back from Sasha.

Now here is where i started to think outside the box. The others who are in there, were not put in there by IZON, but by sasha.

I agree that Sasha isn't blind...because of how well she gets around and because of the watch she wears. The necklace she posseses must be of some great importance or holds some unbelievable powers, which IZON wants, so the only way she could prevent them from taking it was to build the HYPERCUBE and enter it and dissappear with it when it implodes.

So after possessing the necklace, whether it was hers or she stole it, she didn't want IZON to have it, so the only way for them to NEVER have it was to DIE in the hypercube.

She thought ahead about how they would put someone in the hypercube to retrieve it back, so she got people of her own and put them in there to slow IZON's retriever, KATE, to slow her down. The crazy lady and psycho guy, she knew they would slow her down.

But it backfired on her, she dies before the hypercube can implode and RID of the necklace forever. KAte takes it back, gives it to IZON, and she is not important anymore and she knows about the mysterious necklace so they RID of her.

I like this theory best; the only thing for me now, is the beginning.
It begins with becca Young who worked for IZON then, she ends up in the CUBE Grady is connected to the whole thing cuz he has to find her cuz her parents didn't know she'd been 'abducted' to the CUBE. But her getting put in the CUBE doesn't seem to have any relevance to me. Why was she there, why was she important, was it only so we could tie grady to the whole thing???

Also, the opening scene then moves to the bodies of people wrapped in plastic almost like they're in hyper sleep being shipped out into this CUBE.

This again, didnt seem to serve a purpose, like why are they showing us this, they didn't explain it in the end. SO why show the poeple in the bags, and what did becca young have to do with the whole thing??

ALtho i agree w/ the theory above, i'm not sure Sasha put them in the CUBE simply b/c of the beginning. Any answers to the questions here??

well we got alot of open minded people here on the capablilities of "The Blind"

well i happen to be VI, and I do things just fine, crawl in and out of places, Im blind, theres nothing wrong with my hands and my feet

newsflash i wear a watch its not an open face one like one of you were talking about it is digital, it talks

hacking well when your computer savy sight is just a formality

i use JAWS and ZoomText on a daily basis to use my computer
theres really no such thing as a braille keyboard, at least not that i have ever seen

however we do have these really nifty braille displays that attach to the keyboard, but it is not used for the keyboard, i have a brain i memorized the keyboard as did every other blind person i know, actually its another screen reader, without a voice

well i hope i have taught you all something
maybe next time you should do a little research before you start making these kinds of statements

i find them a bit rude

I am suprised that noone has meantioned the film SNEAKERS, the blind person in that had problems climbing ladders(i think unless its the false memory implants again), he did have a keyboard and read the data he typed on something that raised, sorry for the vagueness its been a long time since I watched SNEAKERS.

As for CUBE 2 it was an interesting concept I wish it had not been called CUBE 2 if it could have stood on its own it would have been better. BUt the bits with worth...sorry jerry explaining door design and worth's shell were just to close.
Also I found it interesting that former Nick Knight and former android from TEK WARS Series both has triple names and both played law enforcement types that went off the edge. At first I thought the old lady was an alien that could exist in 3d space instead of the mulit-dimensional space. THough at times it felt like she was the DM (dungeon master) proding the players to advance to the next section of the adventure.

Maybe if IZON was BLACK MESA....

Lol Black Mesa, In theory or at least in this movie isn't the Cube supposed to be able to move through time and space/dimensions kinda like the Event Horizon movie. What if the blind girl's jewelry was a quantum computer on a chip that was supposed to control the movement of the Cube so naturally since she helped create the Cube she tought she could escape into it and traverse it to safety but incidentally abducted all the other people except for the chic with blonde hair. Then after a while noticed that she was trapped inside of it and decided to die. Throught the whole movie she is the most negative person giving up hope because she knows either someone's there to kill her or of the defensive measures inside the cube she helped create. Just as an artist or videogame designer creates & manipulates 2d objects or 3d models maybe the Izon created the traps in the 4d Cube to prevent anyone from traversing it they didn't want! My god father is some deputy director/scientist that works for the DOD with stuff like this mainly intersteller travel, space platforms, lasers, nano, UAV's ect. He was telling me a whole bunch of stuff about this but it "flew over my head" so to speak. I remeber one thing though that if you were to create a wormhole (kinda like Event Horizon/StarGate) your not guaranteed to exit where you want to be. It's like the vortex in the bathtub when you drain the water. The opening is relatively stable but a few cm's into the vortex (or light years into the worm hole) it begin to move rapidly sending you off to a different destination in the Univers every time something enters it. The only way for it to work is to have two openings at opposite ends and in his words unfortunately we haven't the tech to stabilize one that size or a known neighboring Alien intelligence to open one for us on the otherside. It may be more practicle in the future to have "gates" stationed at intervals throught our solar system for speedy travel like in Cowboy Bebop and other Anime!

yes Kate must be working for IZON, but i cant understand why she didn’t know about who Sasha really was. She sounded so surprised when Sasha says she is Alexandra Trust(Alex Trusk ?).

And if her mission is to get the “thing” back, why the **** didn’t she just kill sasha when they where alone in the room with the weird turning razorblade-cube thing. Just take it and push her into the thing. And why yell noooo!, then her neck was broken, by the man I don’t remember the name on.

I simply can’t find any reason to this behaviour.

Just because Kate was sent in to retrive the necklace for IZON doesn't mean she was a killer or trained soldier! She was nothing more than a sleeper agent sent in for play all coy until she could get to close to Alex Trusk A.K.A. Sasha.

Looking at it like that, more than explains the behavior pattern she displayed. Having her act similar like Grady would've spoiled the ending and we certainly would've have felt any sympathy for her knowing she went through hell in the Hypercube and got a raw deal at the end regardless. Even as a agent of IZON who knew too much in the end.

The big build up to the end is called a "plot device"! Make as many guesses along the way and try to figure out 'who's who' and what their purpose is in the movie, before the ending gives it all away. any film thats so easy to figure out and you'd know who's who is called a boring or "crap" film to begin with period. Cube 2 isn't like that at all, its "deep" and only those bitching about it aren't that inclined to work it out for themselves, or it basically isn't their cup of tea?

Far as her surprise at seeing who Alex Trusk really was (Sasha) i suppose Kate wasn't told prior to going in the Hypercube as to who 'Alex Trusk' was what he/she looked like or ever met Trusk before hand. Like the others she probably heard the name and thought he was a man considering how the name 'Alex Trusk' had everyone believing it was this legendary male hacker/programmer working for IZON with a well known reputation etc!
