I think you are wrong and need to know the different between trans and gay. Trans is a man who wants to be a woman. Gay is a man seeking another man. Tyler is the latter.

I would assume that if someone is in a transitional state they will dress more like how they want to end up, so for example if tyler wants to become a woman wouldn't he wear more feminine clothing and make up ? even grow is hair out/longer ?
All indications point to that Tyler is just a dude who likes to date dudes, not a woman who likes dudes.
