Because they were the best and deserved to win.
shareIt's called smart play. You saw how well Brodie and Kurt did on that detour. If they hadn't burned their Express Pass just to get first place they would be cruising to easy victory, instead, the other teams leapt at the opportunity to knock out the strongest team.
sharei'm talking about the end when both teams said they wanted to leave before the frisbee boys showed up to the pit stop

Oh yeah ok I can see how it comes across like that. I didn't see it that way because I am familiar with Burnie's work and his snarky deadpan humor so I to me it didn't come across cowardly but I can totally see how it would come across that way.
shareI thought they used their express pass because the big one, whatever his name is, thought that he was never going to be able to finish that word puzzle in a tube after the water slide. They only seemed worried that if, after using the pass and they didn't get first place, that they would look stupid.
shareThey were hours ahead of the last place team, and used the pass even before another team showed up. They only used it to guarantee first place (which almost backfired). Brodie would have almost certainly figured out the puzzle once other teams showed up and started working on it.
shareThey won the battle but lost the war.

Totally agree!
Not that i think the frisbee boys would've been anything by gentlemanly and good players if they'd seen them on the mat, but yeah, awkward... best avoid that if you can when it's so fresh!
I always think as well the teams that get u-turned a lot of the time bring it on themselves one way or another, playing the game is also about finding the balance of being good, but not so good that you're seen as the best competition and people want you out.
哇,你花时间来谷歌翻译呢
Also, with the exception of continuation legs where they're given a clue at the mat and told to keep racing, I'm pretty sure they all just stand around nearby off-camera with the crew, unless a team is like... hours behind.
So it's not like they ran away to go hide in a hotel. They just didn't stand at the mat with Phil waiting for them to show up. After Phil checked them in, Brodie and Kurt probably walked over to where the others were and talked to them.

You clearly didn't understand what the OP was saying...
shareOr the OP clearly doesn't understand the motive.
You're damn right they were scared of the Frisbee boys. If they all had the opportunity to take them out, they would and should.
Fck this "fair gameplay/the best should battle out in the end" bullsht. If I were in their position, I'd want to win $1 million dollars and do whatever it takes to increase my chances.
And screw anyone who thinks that it's cowardly gameplay. No it's not cowardly, it's smart.
Don't Judge a Book by Its Movie
You're still not understanding...
The OP was NOT referring to the double U-turn and the game play, he was referring to the fact that all the other teams were worried about standing at the pit stop with Phil and waiting for the Frisbee boys to show up and get eliminated.
Now do you get it?
Would it be better if they stuck around to gloat? Sing a little Na,Na,- Na, Hey,Hey,Hey?
shareFirst of all, it's the OP's thread, not mine. I was just correcting the people that misinterpreted his post.
Secondly, no, they shouldn't have stuck around to gloat, but they could stick around to shake hands, say "No hard feelings" and wish them well. You know, just common courtesy, good sportsmanship. But the editing makes it hard to tell exactly how far behind they were.
