So let me get this straight

As everyone probably already knows the latest season of The Amazing Race was left off the schedule for this fall. They did film it already but no word yet on when it will be shown. What I find interesting though is that they are putting the reboot of MacGuyver in its time slot on Friday. So I'm wondering what the plan is when that reboot inevitably fails. I mean they are putting the show on Friday and it is leading into Hawaii 5-0, a show I heard is lucky to still be on the air.

CBS management are too proud to pull off MacGyver even it fails. They will let it run all 13 episodes, just offer no renewal.

If they have 13 episodes in the can, and it fails, I'd expect TAR to be plugged in as its replacement, whether they wait until Feb or debut it late Nov or Dec, who knows.

I haven't heard of another season being filmed, so it looks like we will only get the one season this year instead of the two. I suppose they have another month or two that they could possibly film (sometimes you see Racers traveling thru hotel lobbies and such with Christmas trees) so a second season isn't ruled out, but seems unlikely they'd green light another season without airing the first one.
