Almost Cancelled.
On probation at least. CBS is holding season 29. It is not in fall schedule. Let's hope some new shows fail so TAR can take their time slot.

Race has been down this path before. It was almost cancelled after Season 5 until it won Emmy for best reality show and momentum picked up to keep it. Its had some years where only one season happened per year vs two. So I don't think it was almost cancelled, simply CBS is going to use it to plug any gaps this season. Not a great sign for long-term prognosis, but still aways from being cancelled.

But this time there is no Emmy win to save it. Maybe it will get picked up somewhere else. Maybe.

shareProbably no emmy, but the fact that its a lot cheaper to plug in than a scripted drama, and that it can be filmed well ahead of time and be plugged in on a moments notice, probably keeps it at least on life support.

shareI doubt it will be canceled. Were ratings down for this season? I wouldn't be surprised if so, it was a dreadfully boring season. I actually almost preferred Family Edition to this.
shareHow is a show that has been on 20 years be nominated for best reality show? At this point it's turn key. All about the cast and of course some exciting challenges, but it's not ground breaking at this point..,,.its like baseball now.....just play the game. Still a great show.

Not enough drama. So CBS replaced it with a fake/borderline fake reality show "Hunted".
