Had potential but failed...

I was beginning to like this movie.. yet the further it went the less believable it became.. Im sure the story was solid.. but HOLY CRAP! The "Hector" character was NOT BELIEVABLE AT ALL! lol Raymond Cruz (whos Cuban)pulled off the chicano gangster character beautifully.. If its true that the producers yanked this film from the director.. One can only imagine what it would have been.. Overall.. Eghh

I tried watching it a few nights ago. I stopped after 30 minutes. Any chance of me enjoying this movie went out the window when Hathaway went, "We're just bored. *beep* while gyrating against that guy. I facepalmed.
I changed the channel by the time she started serenading that one dude, or whatever the crap you wanna call that weird act that came literally out of nowhere. Like, you actually saw her come up with the idea out of thin air. I kind of wish she was a real character so I could shut her up.
Hathaway: /Howww do u want it??? howwww do u want it??? all da n1gg@s--/
Me: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SHUT UP! *throws shoe*

Don't get me wrong, I've actually seen this whole movie, but it was about two years ago. I facepalmed then too.
EDIT: Oh, actually, I just remembered. I loved what I saw of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Just going from something like (500) Days to this makes his character all the more hilarious. He's the only good thing about this movie in my opinion.

Are you saying that you've seriously never seen teenagers start quoting songs to each other? Were you home-schooled?

reply

Of course I have. But not in a seemingly "sexy" way. If a girl in my group of friends started singing some stupid hip-hop song in an effort to seduce her boyfriend, he'd leave immediately with her. Not to go have sex with her because her singing a pop song a capella was apparently just THAT sexy -- it'd be to spare her further embarrassment from the other people in the group. I don't know any guy that would be like, "Oh man, I wish MY girlfriend would sing to ME. It's so hot." They're responses would be more like "Is she on something? Did she hit her head?"

Also, you having certain experiences and seeing teenagers around your area do something =/= every teenager does that around the world. Lawl.

Seeing Hathaway (in her decent lookin days), and Bjoui (sp?)Philips in the buff was probably the only ting that kept me watching this wreck.. lol

Lol.

No, they're just sensible enough to realize singing silly pop songs a capella in an effort to serenade each other is retarded.
If she was doing it as a joke and started laughing after or something along those lines, I wouldn't roll my eyes and sigh. But the thing is, she was doing it seriously to serenade her boyfriend and catch his attention. It was annoying.
