For me I don't care if white people listen to rap music, I just hate it when kids from the suburbs think they're gangster, no matter what color you are if you've never packed a tool or sold drugs don't pretend like you do it all the time.
shareI think its annoying to think your gangster regardless of the color of your skin. Especially if you think its cool to "pack a tool" or sell drugs.
sharepeople need to stop trying to be something theyre not. the PLC's were not from the "hood" they were from an affluent community yet they tried to mimic what they thought was "cool" and "real" did you notice how quickly their white side came out when *beep* got too real. allison wasnt too bad with her accent and all that but her Bf and his crew were laughaable.
shareThe way Channing Tatum was pretty natural..he talks like that for real.
shareWhat's the big deal with the white suburban kids 'acting gangsta'? basically they are kids - just like any others - trying to be agressive. The guys in the film from the rough neighbourhood who are - accoring to the posters on this board, the 'real' gangstas - are nothing but 'other' kids acting aggressive. Each have their own reasons, and none of them have the monoply on being 'gangstas'. Gangsters come in all shapes and sizes, its a conscious lifestyle deccission - people are born into privalige or hardship and then make of life what they will.
Get real people - real life's not how MTV portrays it!!
I haven't posted in this forum yet, but I would have to say I don't think it is wrong for white people to like rap music. I'm white and I like my fair share of rap.
I think what I had a problem with in this movie is the fact that these kids were totally lost. At home, Anne's character was a "good girl" in front of her family and didn't even look remotely the same (clothes, dress, attitude). She was engaged in class and clearly very bright. When she was out with her friends, she was someone else completely. I agree with the kid who was videotaping her, that she is one of the loniest people. She's lost. That's where I think this film has a lot of reality. Teenagers, for the most part, struggle with finding their identity so they experiment with things they just are not.
What I got from this film was whatever you do when you're young to try and find out who you are, be careful. Somes mistakes can haunt you forever.
^^Agreed! Alot of people rag on Matt O'Leary's character but he is the conscience of the movie. He calls out Allison and was totally right, she was lonely.
"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit' me!" Hudson in Aliens.
