No conclusion/climax/end ing?

I feel like it ended without a climax or any real um.. ending - I actually thought the movie had accidently played on when I paused it for a little while just after the bathroom/suicideattempt-scene, cause it ended before any conclusion was really made. It was like it escalated towards some kind of boom, and then credits. The tribute to writer Jessica Kaplan in the end also confused me, as I didn't know that story and mistook it for something that might be related to the plot of the movie.
Anyway, what we got to know of the final events of the movie was so bland and predictable - black screen, yelling and gunshots - yeah, I kinda figured out there'd be a gang clash at that point and was probably hoping for a little more than just a confirmation of that fact with a "screeeek! hey! pow!" - to see it play out in someway to reach... I dunno- the POINT of the story?

Did I get something wrong or am I legitimately dissapointed?

Can't totally answer your questions because it's really subjective but the ending was actually scripted to be Toby's funeral and he was supposed to be the only one killed in the implied shoot out but for some reason it was never filmed.

Do you think that would've made a difference?
