Terrible Ending
After all that.. thats how they end it?
Lame.
Yeah, I hated the ending. Who gets shot? I'm thinking the PLC kids .... anyone know for sure?
Kevin: What about you? You don't have any needs?
Jane: No. I'm Jesus.

Hopefully all of them...god they sucked!
When life gives you lemons just say "f_ck the lemons" and bail!
i liked the ending...it was very powerful but it sucked hoe we dont know who turned the car around and got shot.

The world will look up and shout "Save us!"... And I'll whisper "No."
As it gets clear from the Trivia, Toby gets shot.
Tell you what. The truth is... sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it.
I think I am the only one who thought the ending was well done. of course, when the movie was over I was angry. I wanted to know more about the characters. I think, in my opinion that it's obvious that the PLC "gang" get shot. They had just pathetically attempted to raid the houses of the Latino "gang" members (i havent seen this movie for a while, so I forget their official names) and were on their way home. It's a good tragic ending, that the fairly rich wealthy naive children of LA get killed.
shareI actually thought it was the 16th street gang member that got shot and Toby and all those fools would get sent to prison for murder. I don't think the gang members knew what they'd done to those women at that point but Toby realised that they were the gang they were after from the tattoo on the back of his head. I think this would be a better ending then them getting killed cos while they were in prison... they could see just how hard they really were :)
EDIT: Saying that though, i've just read the trivia in which it says that Toby was the only one killed in the final shootout in a scene that was never shot. Still if i hadn't have read that, i'd have still been given the impression that he shot the 16th street gang member

The whole point is it doesn't matter who got shot. That was the next line after the shooting.
The way I saw it, anyway.
I disagree. The film maker showed integrity and avoided the obvious and simple gang banger show down. It forced you to fill in the blanks. I am sure the drones that run Hollywood wanted blood. It's rare that a film like this gets away with playing it smart. I was really impressed.

The movie was bad and the same goes for the ending. Overall is was pretty weak and I wasn't impressed at all.
sharethe ending could have shown the white kids shooting up at the 16 street guys. but then what?? i think it could have been a way to end the movie, but the way it ended was maybe better - it left us all to 'think' about what was going to happen / and then about what would happen after that / and made us think about why it all escalted to that - rather than seeing a big shoot out...if you get my drift.
shareUm, I'm guessing the fake spoiled high-school subculture whores who had never actually used a gun were the ones that got killed.
Just because you need resolution spoon-fed to you doesn't make an ending bad.
God has a hard-on for Marines, because we kill everything we see.
It doesn't make an ending at all

I get that Toby turned the car around after he saw the tat on the back of the other driver's head. I don't even care that they weren't clear on who was shot.
What confused me was what they showed after that.....some girl's name, Jenny something, and gave some years. There was a girl killed? There were no girls in either vehicle. Was this based on something that actually happened??

Ah, thank you. I must have missed that somehow.

I thought the ending was okay, because it leaves it all to you to interpret what you think happened. I think the PLC kids were killed, I think they went back and followed them and it escalated into a shootout.

The final scene was supposed to be Toby's funeral but it was never shot. Toby was to be the only character who was killed.
The "in memory of" was a dedication to the writer who died in a plane crash in 2003 shortly before filming began.
maybe she should have got married ...
