share"Mentally ill"? Bundy was NOT mentally ill as far as the LAW is concerned--HE KNEW RIGHT FROM WRONG. He was NOT delusional. He was in PERFECT control of himself. You confuse mental illness with lacking a conscience. All those murders were for his entertainment and nothing more.
He was selfish, sadistic, remorseless, cold blooded KILLER who would still be killing if he hadn't been caught.
I'm GLAD that sack of sh!t didn't have the option of lethal injection.
As his execution neared, he tried to BARGAIN with the State of Florida to postpone his execution in exchange for more time alive as depicted in this movie. This is not the act of a "mentally ill" person, it's the act of a cunning manipulator who values his life and nobody elses and knows exactly what he's doing.
YOU need to get "enlightened" about the LEGAL definition of mental illness, which Bundy never met.
Hell is too GOOD for him.
you clearly have no idea about mental illness. I am aware that there is a difference between how the law defines mental illness (an incorrect imo) and the psychological view.
If we look at another example -Dahmer, if you really think that keeping a skull in your fridge is the act of a normal 'sane' person....or drilling a hole in someones head and pouring acid in etc, I'm not coming to your house for dinner.
I for one are happier knowing that there are a small number of people out there who are very sick and have a certain compulsion towards extreme acts rather than your view of normal people wandering about going, 'i know, i'm a bit bored i think i'll rape and murder someone today, maybe cook up thier liver...'.
p.s I'm happy to let you down by reporting that there is no hell.

both of them knew what they were doing and that's the problem with the legal definition, I see little difference in Dahmer hanging out in clubs picking up men with Bundy hanging round dorms.
I do agree there are 'types' of serial killer for sure.
People expect the mentally ill to be drooling at the mouth and whacking off in a corner of the room.
As for Bundy being 'normal'....so was John Wayne Gacy. Dennis Rader (BTK) was normal & a good christian fella, except when they were out raping and killing.
they generally pass as normal which is why they get away with it for so long.

One difference between Bundy & Dahmer--Dahmer at least took responsibility for what he did, showed remorse, apologized to the victims' survivors and asked for no consideration for any of it from the court. Bundy protested his innocence until it was obvious his appeals were exhausted, then tried to bargain for more life with information about murders he'd committed--it was always about Ted.
The legal definition of mentally ill is all about people who can't help themselves and act under delusion or the effects of their mental illness that make it impossible to understand right from wrong.
There was a guy named Billy Ferrie in Florida in 1983 who was a paranoid schizophrenic and who looked and acted CRAZY--one of those who ranted at strangers, heard voices, and who eventually threw a bucket of gasoline on a grocery store check out line. 5 people burned to death, several others severely injured. He was originally sentenced to death, the Florida Supreme Court threw that out because he was acting under severe delusions. Ferrie thought "the Russians" were trying to kill him, and he also thought the Winn Dixie grocery store he chose as a target was connected to "the Russians" because their store logo was red and white.
This is the kind of person whose mental illness rates some mercy.
Bundy, Dahmer, BTK & Gacy knew exactly what they were doing, that it was wrong and they were in control of themselves when they "appeared normal."
They were able to control their compulsions when they wanted to, and they chose to act on their compulsions when they thought they could get away with it.
No one is arguing they were "normal," but the courts and legislatures have decided they deserved no mercy for whatever their mental problems were because they knew right from wrong when they killed people.

First of all, there is no such thing as Hell. If there were a hell, a lot of good people who did not follow the right religion will end up there. It is just a naive concept of a complicated life.
Secondly, Bundy was mentally ill. Go read a book on psychopaths. They do not feel empathy, or guilt Its something they just don't feel. Normal people do something, and they become overwhelmed with guilt, and recover. Psychopaths are born without conscience. I am pretty sure that somebody will come up with an excuse of demon possession, and what not, but I think no matter what, he deserved to die, because he was without an initial component required to be a part of society. Hence, he is no worse than an animal who acts on their urges, and does not follow a law.
Thirdly, the law can only go as far as to give him death penalty. That he did receive. The universe is indifferent, so anything can happen, and anything will happen. We can only try to improve it as best as we could by enforcing laws, and regulations.
