Seasons one through three were truly the best of the entire show-

I believed this back then during its original WB airing and I still believe this now- the best seasons were/are one through three. The episodes in the early years were just pure gold through and through. I honestly hated the Reba/Van real estate partnership in the later years, I found it boring and didn't care for it one bit. I also didn't care for how they made Cheyenne an alcoholic. I truly loved season three the best- the Kyra moving over to Brock & Barbra Jean's arc was phenomenal and season 3 had some of my favorite episodes in the series. I really wish the later years had lived up to the standard of the first three seasons- because of it had, this show would have been one for the ages in my book.

Agree 100%. Those were two of my least favorite storylines.

I also hated how Reba slowly warmed up to Barbara Jean. I know she couldn't stay mad forever, but I also don't buy how someone could become best buddies with someone who was having an affair with your spouse. I liked how it was in the earlier seasons where Reba could be civil to BJ but she would insult her and you knew Reba loathed her deep down.

I wish Van had stayed in football to some degree. If they didn't want him playing, it should've been written that he became an assistant coach at one of the high schools or universities. Houston has loads of football teams on all levels.

I agree as well. The latter seasons had a different feel. There were still some funny moments, but some of the storylines I found annoying also. Besides the ones you mentioned, I also hated Barbara Jean's Stormy Clearweather bit and her and Brock's separation storyline. I know it's weird, but I really didn't care for Barbara Jean's character once Melissa lost all the weight. It was like she was a different person and her comedic delivery and characteristics seemed completely different. Brock became a total clown as well. I feel like a lot of sit-comes get this way in the last seasons. Like they're trying too hard and the characters come off cartoonish. Like Roseanne!
