....Black Cat....?

Okay, this is a very hazy memory in my head, and I apologize for the vagueness. I see a cartoon show on a TV, with a black cat, a dark house, and maybe a witch, not sure. There is also a great feeling of sadness within me.... for some reason, I'm attributing it to David the Gnome. I've got it linked in my head to the David the Gnome theme song and ending credits sequence, for some reason. But I don't know if that's correct or not. David the Gnome was one of my favorite shows of all time, though. I'd watch it every single day. And the image I'm seeing wouldn't really relate to the overall themes, would it? I thought maybe it was the final episode, since everyone says that it's really sad, but I've read several descriptions of the final episode, and though they all speak of sadness, none say anything about darkness, a black cat, or a witch. Does what I'm remembering have ANYTHING to do with David the Gnome? If so, then what? And if not, does anyone have any idea what it might be? I know for sure that it's animated, and I'm seeing a picture of darkness and a black cat. The house and the witch are both just subtle possibilities.

It might be... because I was remembering another episode and I'm pretty sure it's that cartoon. It was a different one and it seems that there were a lot of sad episodes.

Well, I think I found it, on YouTube. Episode 7, "To Grandfather's House We Go." It has a dark house and a witch and a cat and that has to be it! But it doesn't make me feel sad....maybe the sadness thing was just something I imagined. Do you know which episode had that sequence where a fox died or something? I found that clip on YouTube also, and right at the very end of the clip, for an instant it showed David poring through some books, which is also what he was doing throughout episode 7. So now I'm uber-confused.

I remember that episode. The cat had only one eye. I remember cause when I saw it I had a stuffed toy cat with only one eye.

Well David the Gnome worked as a doctor and would heal various animals and what not throughout the forest. The image of him poring through books was a common one because he often had to consult the literature to help with treatment. I can't remember the name of the episode where the fox died, but I do remember that episode so I know it exists. I know that last bit doesn't help, but at least you can rest easy about the book part. :)
