Did anyone else find Miles to be immature?

I thought that Miles's behavior was very immature. To act like that at his age was just pathetic. His whole bad attitude towards women and trying to get his brother to not fall in love with Winnie at first. I know that he had a bad history with his wife, but that was no reason to act that way towards all women in general. Your thoughts?

I think Miles was right to try to influence Jessie not to fall in love with Winnie, because of the inevitable pain that would cause (either loss of love, or loss of mortality), but I agree with you that the way he went about it did not reflect his age. It was a useful story-telling device, though. If Miles's response was congruent with his actual age, we would see more dialogue similar to that between Winnie and Jessie's father, which would flatten the story-telling.
