Who was the narrator?

The narrator definitely wasn't Winnie's voice. I thought it might be her as she was older, but she ended up being dead at the end. Could it have been Winnie's daughter or granddaughter retelling her story? Thoughts?

I don't think the narrator is meant to be anyone in the story. It's Elizabeth Shue's voice, as listed in the credits. Just a generic omniscient storyteller, but this time it's a woman.

was it not Jesse's mums voice because surely if it was her grand-daughter she would have come out to meet Jesse??
