Did I miss a scene?

I've just watched this for the first time and I'm wondering if I missed a scene

After the Tucks leave, Winnie watches her mother crying over an old woman who dies and then her funeral. Now I know this is supposedly Winnie's grandmother, but, did I miss a scene where she was talked about / introduced or are we supposed to guess that this poor woman dying is Winnie's grandmother?. I'm sorry but I was wondering and thanks for your help

This is the weakest point of the film, in my opinion. We only see Winnie's grandmother in the background in the beginning of the movie, such as when she's playing the piano and stressed about the trials of "being a lady." Her grandmother gets no development, but her death is important to the plot in that Winnie comes face to face with mortality, her mother softens, and ultimately she thinks back on what Huck said about living a fulfilling life.

Yes, I did find this a terrible written part of the film. While I knew it was her grandmother, it was never explained at all in the film - without a single scene really - and we were just left to guess
