In about the first twenty minutes of the movie, Christian reminds Miranda where he found her while they were talking on the phone. I remember him saying something about big boots she was wearing, but whatever it was that Mireanda did, it appeared to upset her. It's been a while since I've seen this movie; can anyone tell me what it was she previously did and/or where Christian found her? Thanks

I don't think either of them specifically said what she was doing when he found her. Later in the movie, she revealed to Frank that she had run away from home to New Jersey, and then Christian came along and basically he was kind to her, took her under his wing and taught her card tricks that she could do in bars so as to make money. But nothing was ever specifically said about "what" she was doing when he took her in. The "big boots" comment teases you into assuming that she might have been a go-go dancer, or maybe a streetwalker? IOW, something she wasn't real proud of, and still upset her just thinking about it.
