How did this movie get 3 stars?!?!

I just caught this film for the first time today on Comedy Central. My Bright House guide says this is a 3 star movie! There's no way the MPAA gave this garbage 3 stars. What gives? Is there some sort of other rating system used for tv?

That's nothing! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that this movie has 76% on rottentomatoes and 69 on metacritic! I still can't believe. I give it 2.5 stars out of five...

The MPAA does not give out stars! It rates films either G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 or X.

Stars would be the opinion of a critic.

Honestly...

Good character development
Good Plot
Decent acting
Funny

Good enough to get 3 stars.

I dont see how this movie could ONLY get 3 stars, it has a great plot, VERY funny, and character development, deserves at least 4 stars, it was a great movie, I dont see why people are hating it so much, its very funny

I know. In the tv guide, its only two.

This definitely got mixed reviews. It does get three stars in the syndicated TV listings (online, digital cable, etc.), which has star ratings seemingly based on Leonard Maltin's movie guide, but only two in TV Guide. But then again, Fight Club also gets two in TV Guide and the people here call anyone who doesn't like it an "idiot".
