I felt sorry for Scott Speedman's charcter. SPOILERS:his death was completely useless . Why wasn't he using a flack jacket when he was hit by the criminals(almost at the end,bbefore or during the riot)???

There was a sceen that was never shot were they open the trunk and there is only one. And Speedmans character gives it to Michael Michelles character. And it was at the beggining of the riot.

It's body armor not a flak jacket, flak jacket is for shrapnel and does not stop bullets.

A flack jacket will not stop multiple shotgun shots from killing you. Not even a bullet proof vest could've saved him. The shooter was like 8 feet away maybe. Bullet proof vests that the police use barely even stop 9mm handgun rounds. There is no doubt that in real life, also, he would've died.

Don't know much about body armor, do you? (It is not a "bulletproof vest")

Body armor comes in a number of levels:1, 2a, 2 and 3a being the most common.

What armor will or will not stop is a combo of the round used, type of projectile and length of the barrel used to fire it. But 2a and up are rated to stop 9mm. The 2a and up are all rated to stop 12 guage 00 buckshot. Almost nobody sells level 1 vests and fewer people actually buy them.
