This Movie is Badass

I liked it so much. I was so surprised. Kurt Russell is consistently excellent and the supporting cast is top notch outside of Speedman's lover. Brendan Gleeson is a superb snake and Ving Rhames is a perfect cop trying to uphold the law.

This film is one of a few that actually gives two contrasting opinions justice. At first glance, Kurt Russell can be viewed a corrupt man with no regard for true justice. But if you take a closer look, it seems as though he so deeply wants justice brought to criminals that it maddens him. He constantly drinks and his relationship with his wife is *beep* He is similar to Russell Crowe's character in LA Confidential, except he is more interesting to watch because he has a sense of humor and seems more realistic.

Then, Ving Rhames tries desperately to reveal the true events of a shooting which angers the rest of the police department. He wants to uphold traditional by-the-books justice, but Kurt Russell convincingly argues that some men deserve to be killed when their crimes are irredeemable.

Great cast, great acting. A lot of the music is great too, outside of the cheap boppy jazz that accompanies some scenes.

Go see, really deserves a higher rating on IMDb. It stands up to LA Confidential, a similar film.
