I think they came out around the same time, which one do you think is better?

i havent seen Dark Blue but Narc is so damn good. Almost as good as Training Day.

Since TD Im a big fan of David Ayer. So hopefully Dark Blue has the same reality as his previous script. But it seems when he co-writes things they aren't as good.

They're both excellent movies.

I preferred "Dark Blue" over "Narc." Kurt Russell is great in his over-the-top performance as a racist, angry cop--easily his best role. Gleeson is good as the manicial leader and Ving Rhames has a nice supporting role. "Narc" was good but the dialogue wasn't as polished as Ellroy's fodder. But that's my opinion.

God Narc was about ten times better than Dark Blue and i liked it more than Training Day as well. Dark Blue's ending was just a big dissapointment to me, and thats all im gonna say.

Dark Blue and Narc are both great movies, but I have to go with Narc.

"Narc", of course - although "Dark Blue" is superior to the often flat and infantile "Training Day".

I thought "Dark Blue" was really good, but not as good as "Training Day". The L.A. riot scenes were done very well, and you can really feel the claustrophobia of being stuck in that city when that happened. Of course "Black Hawk Down" comes off 10 times scarier in the situation, but this worked too. Liked the touch of how they beat the hell out of the white gangster dude who actually lived there, just because he was white. Really showed that god only knows what they'd do to Kurt Russell if they got him considering he's a copy.

But compared to "Narc", this movie doesn't hold anything to it. "Narc" was so good it's not even funny. I'd put it over "Training Day" as well. Always helps to have the always dependable Jason Patric (except "Speed 2") in at as well. Thought the film surpassed Patric's other junkie cop film "Rush" as well. Why he doesn't get more roles is beyond me cause he's a great actor. Of course, will always remember the first movie I saw with him "Your Friends & Neighbors" with his creepy 5 minute monologue about him and some friends raping another kid in gym class, lol.
